These two were meant for each other from the beginning! Here are a few photos and videos of them growing up together!

When she was little, Bella did everything Shadow did! This photo was taken about a week after her arrival! This is his favorite ‘perch’ – where he waits for a hug and a rub when we get home. He taught her how to play and wrestle! He took care for how small she was…..but all accommodations are off when she gets bigger!

He taught her how to nicely ask for goodies – and has taught her the correct time cycle….immediately after breakfast, then ‘eleven-sies’ and ‘onsies’ and lastly, after dinner.

He taught her where we hide the good stuff! What are they looking for? Outside chair cushions, stored for winter, they are about to squeeze on top of them. They are becoming two peas!
SHE actually taught him about puddles and creeks. They were having ‘so-mud-fun’ after a heavy rain! The next video is NOT for the feint of heart! Remember how sweetly Shadow played with Bella when she was little? Well, they BOTH challenge each other! Bella can run circles around him, but he is bigger and stronger. It makes me nervous, but they never intentionally hurt each other. If one or the other yelps, they both immediately stop. If Bella is the yelper, after a few seconds she immediately eggs him on again with a bite on the neck or butt or leg – whatever she can get a hold of! You will see Bella also has a ‘safe’ zone under the shed.
Believe me, they love running and wrestling – nobody got hurt making this video! LOL! But truly, Shadow can be quite the gentleman. Bella isn’t comfortable on her own outside at night (of course, part of it is that we have a bobcat somewhere close by), even though the ‘potty area’ is inside a fenced area. Shadow goes out into the yard first and looks and sniffs around, then he walks back inside the gate and picks up Bella and escorts her out. He stands guard just 2 or 3 feet from her. When she is finished, he ‘covers’ her spot, and then walks her back into the house. I have watched this numerous times. Even their babysitter has commented on how much they truly love each other. We hope you have time to visit their individual pages!
